It has always been my favorite season, so I might be a little biased, but summer is truly the best time for family photos in Northern Colorado. Yes, fall is typically touted as the time of year to get your pictures taken but as a photographer with 10 + years of experience, I’m going to share with you why you should book earlier this year!
First, let’s talk about the weather. In summer, we rarely have crazy hot days here in Loveland and Fort Collins. The sun is almost always shining though in the summer months. Even on the hotter days, the evening time when we typically do family sessions, cools off significantly. This warm weather means you can wear those flowy sundresses, your little ones scraped knees can be memorialized, and you rock those sandals and even pop them off for a few barefoot shots. No clunky snow coats and boots needed!
The summer weather also opens us up for fun activities like skipping rocks in the water, picking wildflowers, and blowing dandelions. Kids are completely in their element and beaming with natural smiles doing these activities. And think sun – kissed skin vs cold red runny noses!
Most importantly though, summer is a time with less stress overall. No crazy school and sports schedules, you’re enjoying the outdoors, and just living a more relaxed life. That shows in your pictures!
