I’ve been photographing newborn babies in Northern Colorado for over 7 years now! When I first started out, I would travel to clients homes with all of the props, flooring, a big beanbag, and an IKEA bag full of backdrops! It felt like I was moving in when I’d show up at your door! I’m so grateful to have moved to a studio 3.5 years ago and love that I can now offer so much more variety, consistent lighting, and so many more props to clients. The Loveland studio is like a little oasis for new parents. Stocked with snacks, a comfy sofa, and some Netflix, many of my newborn parents doze off while I get to snuggle and photograph their sweet new baby.
With the move to the studio though, I missed the more casual lifestyle type photos of parents with their brand new baby. The more formal posed pictures on a solid backdrop are beautiful and a perfect fit for many of my clients but having the option to do both styles of family and parent images is something I really wanted. This past year, I’ve built a bedroom set in the Loveland studio that’s perfect for those casual images!
My clients love that they are getting the best of both worlds. Beautiful lifestyle images without opening up their home and having to clean and decorate. And also the option for more posed formal images! Some clients choose one or the other and some like both types of parent/family photos! The bedroom setting is also fantastic for those new big brothers and sisters to safely hold the newest little family member! Family and parent images always take place at the start of the session so siblings can head off to school or play in the play area of the studio.
The majority of the newborn session is spent posing a sweet sleepy babe and focusing on that little angelinc face that will be changing all too quickly!
The typical session includes 2 backdrop colors, one prop set up and a fur set up along with parent and family poses.
The session always ends with those sweet little detail images of eyelashes and toes and a tiny little nose!
