Year after year I watch these babies grow and it never ceases to amaze me how fast they change! This was Lucy’s 5th and Calvin’s 4th time in front of my camera! For family photos this year they were totally comfortable just being themselves. They hunted grasshoppers, took turns snuggling mom and dad, dipped their toes in the water and skipped rocks in river. Of course we stopped and posed for a few family photos in between all of that fun but I adore those candid moments and true connections frozen in time. Next year maybe grasshoppers will be less exciting but mama will never forget how much Calvin loved hunting them this year. 

When the kids are totally done with being in front of the camera, I love taking a couple minutes to capture mom and dad alone together. Of course there are children running around their feet but it’s important to take a moment and photograph the love that created this beautiful family in the first place. <3

I fell in love with this location during this family’s session! So much so that I’m offering mini sessions here this year! They are early in the morning to get the very best light but totally worth the early wake up!
