These images are exactly why I love photography. We had been out looking for grasshoppers in the wheat field across the street earlier in the week and I noticed what a gorgeous backdrop the fields would be for some photos. The night that I took these, Rich was working late and I had dinner on the stove but the light outside was just right. Even though it wasn’t the most convenient time, I got Harper dressed and we went on another grasshopper hunt. She kept calling out “Lo? Grasshopper?” in her tiny little voice and looking for her new favorite bug.

Two days later, the wheat was harvested. The field is gone. My baby is growing so quickly. I keep looking at her and wondering how she’s gotten so big, how she’s learned all of these new things and where the time has gone.  These photos capture such a fleeting moment that can’t be recreated and I’ll cherish the memory always.
