The B family had planned to have a home birth for their second child. Thank goodness! Mom would not have made it to the hospital. Baby E was safely born into her daddy’s arms, with big sister nearby, about 20 minutes before the midwife arrived. This girl knows how to make an entrance!
Spending the afternoon with Baby E and her family, I could see just how lucky she is and what a loving, close family the B’s are. Mom and Dad were both so calm and amazing at balancing the challenges that come with being new parents and having a 2 year old who still needs your attention.
Big sister is adjusting very well and we had a fun time playing while baby tooks some snack breaks. I’ll post more about her later I promise! I’ll see the B family on Friday for some family photos. I’m excited to see how much baby E has grown between 4 days and 16 days old! How lucky am I?

Loooove the photo with mom! I bet it would be amazing in black and white! The eyes-open is beautiful for the lighting you used. Sweet little girl!
Thanks! The black and white is pretty gorgeous! I love showing color on the blog but I’ll be sure to throw in some b&w’s too from here on out!
I also love the one of mom and baby and the one of the turquoise table is very pretty too!
I’m with the others who said they love open eyed newborn photos. Of course the sleepy images are always gorgeous, but it’s so nice to see their beautiful little eyes too!
