Lifestyle newborn photography is a beautiful alternative to the more posed style Dear Kate Studios offers. I love having a studio that is versatile enough to photograph both options in! Finley’s family chose to stick to more natural poses to capture his early days. They came to the studio when Finley was about 1 month old and the fog of those first few weeks with a new baby was starting to lift. Their session lasted about 45 minutes. For lifestyle photos, there is no need for baby to be sleeping so we were able to start right away with a cozy wrap and family photos all together. When big brother needed a break to check out the studio toys, we shifted focus to mom and baby or dad and baby. Through parenting my own kiddos, I’ve learned the patience and flexibility that make children happiest and parents more comfortable for sessions. Big brother got his own moment to shine and feel important as well!
