The time has come for Glitter Mini Sessions!! What kiddo wouldn’t love playing with glitter?? I have loved seeing these types of images shared from photographer’s all over the country and wanted to do them for a long time! I’ve finally gotten over my fear of the giant mess they create and can’t wait to see your littles playing and dancing in piles of gold sparkly glitter! These sessions will take place on Sunday, February 10, 2019. Each session is 20 minutes long, giving us plenty of time to really play and also capture some gorgeous images! You’ll receive 5 digital images with your session for $150. You may add an additional child, up to 3 total per session or additional digital images for a fee. Times spaces are limited! Choose works best for you at the calendar below.
As a mom of three, I know that getting ready for family pictures is a challenge! Dressing everyone, filling bellies, emptying bladders, and then making sure there is no junk on little faces. Not to mention also dressing yourself and looking photo ready! The stress ends there with my sessions though! Once you show up, there is no pressure for you or your family to be anyone other than yourselves!
I believe family photos should be a representation of who you truly are! During our session, your job is to play! Snuggle your kiddos, throw them in the air, and run races! Of course, everyone wants that one great photo with everyone smiling and looking at the camera. When you’ve spent so much time playing, your littles are much more willing to participate!
My favorite photos from every session showcase the moment, then the people and lastly, the light and location. Family photos are all about the people and their relationships after all!
What do you find is the hardest part of getting photos taken?
I’ve been photographing newborn babies in Northern Colorado for over 7 years now! When I first started out, I would travel to clients homes with all of the props, flooring, a big beanbag, and an IKEA bag full of backdrops! It felt like I was moving in when I’d show up at your door! I’m so grateful to have moved to a studio 3.5 years ago and love that I can now offer so much more variety, consistent lighting, and so many more props to clients. The Loveland studio is like a little oasis for new parents. Stocked with snacks, a comfy sofa, and some Netflix, many of my newborn parents doze off while I get to snuggle and photograph their sweet new baby.
With the move to the studio though, I missed the more casual lifestyle type photos of parents with their brand new baby. The more formal posed pictures on a solid backdrop are beautiful and a perfect fit for many of my clients but having the option to do both styles of family and parent images is something I really wanted. This past year, I’ve built a bedroom set in the Loveland studio that’s perfect for those casual images!
My clients love that they are getting the best of both worlds. Beautiful lifestyle images without opening up their home and having to clean and decorate. And also the option for more posed formal images! Some clients choose one or the other and some like both types of parent/family photos! The bedroom setting is also fantastic for those new big brothers and sisters to safely hold the newest little family member! Family and parent images always take place at the start of the session so siblings can head off to school or play in the play area of the studio.
The majority of the newborn session is spent posing a sweet sleepy babe and focusing on that little angelinc face that will be changing all too quickly!
The typical session includes 2 backdrop colors, one prop set up and a fur set up along with parent and family poses.
The session always ends with those sweet little detail images of eyelashes and toes and a tiny little nose!
Which style of family and parent photos is your favorite?
This sweet baby came to visit me at the Loveland Studio from Greeley for her newborn photos. Mom and dad were doing a great job adjusting to parenthood with a new baby! Ella is such a sweet petite little girl! I love that mom wanted all the pink and girly colors and how we complemented that with creams and neutrals. Ella’s newborn pictures are timeless and classic and can be displayed in their home for years to come!
My newest niece Clara came to see me at 12 days old for her newborn baby pictures. She was due in early June and my other sister-in-law (the baby of the family!) was scheduled to be married June 15th! Clara’s big brother’s and sister all came in their own time, the latest being born the day after his due date, and the earliest coming almost 2 weeks early; so we were all taking bets on when she would make her grand entrance! Poor mama was trying to decide if her dress for the wedding would need to accommodate a baby bump still! And Miss Clara made us wait! She was born June 13th, early in the morning.
Clara was the longest pregnancy of all 4 kiddos! My own babies liked to bake a long time too! Harper was 7 days past her due date and Drew was induced at 11 days overdue! When it came time for Henry, we chose to induce early to avoid an Independence day baby! He was over 8lbs so I can’t imagine if he’d have stayed on the inside as long as Drew! Miss Clara was born at 9lbs 10.8oz and 20.75″ long! She continues to be the most peaceful little chub and it’s been a blast watching her grow these last few months <3
P.S. Clara was the youngest guest at her aunt’s wedding at just 2 days old! It was so fun for the whole family to be able to meet her right away!

Angela contacted me this spring when she was looking for a family photographer and I was so excited to work with her family of boys! I worked with Angela years and years ago when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter Harper and she had just had her oldest Luisangel! We’ve been facebook friends since then but it was so fun to catch up as a lot changes in 9 years! Angela is the co-founder of It’s Total MomSense and The Moms Who Rise Conference that will take place this October in Northern Colorado.
The Moms Who Rise Conference was designed to celebrate mom- life. To elevate women in their purposes and passion. To develop women beyond mom to live the more they seek. You will be equipped with the tools necessary to transform into the highest version of yourself! – http://itstotalmomsense.com/
When we arrived for our session on that warm spring night, the littlest of the boys had fallen asleep in the car. This happens sometimes no matter how we try to schedule naps! Kids have their own agenda always! So the little guy was super into mom and being held for our session which was totally ok! He loves being the baby of the family and looks up to his big brothers! The boys all had a blast running and playing and cracking jokes trying to get him to laugh!
I love how the boys individual pictures show off their little personalities! That group hug with mama is exactly what motherhood feels like sometimes!
It’s clear the Garcia household is full of energy and so much love! I always try to sneak a few photos of just mom and dad into every family session too! Most of us haven’t had a professional portrait together since our weddings!
And lastly we grabbed a few headshots for Angela to use in promoting It’s Total MomSense and The Moms Who Rise Conference! If you are a mom in Northern Colorado make sure you go check them out!
